Travel Across Time with Tonic Comix’s “Lilly and Wepwawet”
Earlier this week, independent comic book publisher Tonic Comix launched a crowdfunding campaign for Lilly and Wepwawet, a 44-page spin-off book set in the Saving the World universe. Written and illustrated by Tonicmole and featuring a back-up short story illustrated by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Jim Lawson, Lilly and Wepwawet is a sci-fi adventure featuring a time-traveling bank teller and her omnipotent, supernatural companion.
Here’s the official breakdown of the project taken from the Lilly and Wepwawet Indiegogo campaign page:
The Cretaceous Period is a dangerous place for pretty much anything edible, however Lilly is determined to prove that she can not only survive this brutal prehistoric land, but thrive in it. With the mysterious Wepwawet always nearby, Lilly battles prehistoric beasts, and begins to unravel a mystery that will shake the very foundation of the Saving-verse forever!
Backers can get a digital version of Lilly and Wepwawet for $5, while physical copies start at $25. If you want to catch up on the broader Saving the World universe, there are also digital and physical tiers featuring bundles of these earlier books.
