Supernatural Fantasy Comic “Otis Stein” Now on Indiegogo

“Sometimes dead is better….”

Earlier this week, independent comic publisher Gravestone Press launched a crowdfunding campaign for Otis Stein, a 36-page horror/fantasy book that features a new spin on the classic Frankenstein story.

Written by Matthew Vealey and featuring illustrations by Carlos F. Rodriguez, Otis Stein originally began as a short story in Ashcan Comics’ Old School Monsters anthology book (which The Splintering reviewed right here).

Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Otis Stein Indiegogo campaign page:

When Otis resorts to making moonshine, he makes a grave mistake that costs him his life. Seeing Otis’ lifeless body, the now widowed Mary tries to bring him back using ancient magic. But not everything is as it seems, and dark forces gather in the shadows. Love, sadness, death and the macabre await you within the pages of Otis Stein!

Backers can get a digital version of Otis Stein for $4, while physical copies start at $6. If you have more cash to spend, you can also pick up extra copies of the book, original artwork, and a blacklight poster.

The best part? The book is already finished, and all that remains is getting numbers for the print run.
