Vinnie Tartamella’s Pirate Comic “Shadow of the Kraken” Now on Indiegogo

Over the weekend, independent comic book creator Vinnie Tartamella launched a crowdfunding campaign for Shadow of the Kraken, a 50-page pirate graphic novel (Is “Pirate” it’s own sub genre at this point?).

Written and illustrated by Tartamella (Through the Woods, City of Venus), Shadow of the Kraken promises action, brutality, and plenty of booty! Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Shadow of the Kraken Indiegogo campaign page:

This book is set in the Caribbean during the 1700s. Nathaniel James Calin was once part of the Royal Navy. He then turned to piracy, along with Anne Galway, a survivor in her own regard. Their crew is made up of mostly freed slaves and other defectors from the Royal Navy. They are pursued by a ruthless and mysterious man with a vicious crew and a vindictive nature.

Backers can get a signed copy of Shadow of the Kraken for $25. If you have deeper pockets, you can also pick up multiple copies of the book, a variant cover, art prints, a keychain, or original artwork.

The best part? The project is already fully funded, so the next step is to unlock a few stretch goals.
