The Clownfish TV Crew Bring Fantasy Comic “Shadowbinders” to Indiegogo (Crowdfunding Spotlight)

Earlier this month, independent comic book creators and Clownfish TV hosts Kneon and Geeky Sparkles (government names Thom Pratt and Kambrea, respectively) launched a crowdfunding campaign for volumes 1 and 2 of Shadowbinders, a fantasy series that began its life in 2010 as a webcomic.
Written by Ms. Sparkles and illustrated by Mr. Kneon, Shadowbinders is a lighthearted blend of fantasy and steampunk (think Skies of Arcadia, SEGA Dreamcast fans), and each volume boasts a girthy 160 pages (!).
Here’s the official pitch from the Shadowbinders Indiegogo campaign page:
Steampunk! Fantasy! Romantic Comedy?!
Mia White was an ordinary high school girl with ordinary high school problems. That all changed the day she was given her grandfather’s mysterious journal and an even more mysterious antique ring — one that transports her to another world!
Now this ordinary girl finds herself in an extraordinary realm filled with airships, flying serpents and clockwork cities! But her biggest challenge may come in the form of handsome, aloof (and downright infuriating) mage Crimson Rhen…
Backers can get hardback copies of both volumes 1 and 2 for $60, while retailers can pick up a larger bundle of books at wholesale prices. It is also worth noting that there is NO additional shipping charge, at least not for buyers in the United States.
The best part? The project is already well beyond funded, and the books themselves are pretty much ready to ship once the crowdfunding campaign period ends.
Kneon & Geeky Sparkles intend to return to the Shadowbinders world with a third volume in 2022, so this is a great way to catch up before volume three is available.
