Retro Graphics’ Sexy Noir Comic “Dixie Rose” Fully Funded on Indiegogo

On Wednesday, Retro Graphic Books launched a crowdfunding campaign for Dixie Rose, a 52-page one-shot comic that combines film noir with some unapologetically sexy visuals.
Written by Matthew Fowler (Seicho 66) and featuring illustrations by Ricardo Jaime (The Prospectres) colors by Marcos Martins (The Prospectres), and lettering by the prolific Eric Weathers (Battle Brick Road), Dixie Rose promises “babes, brawlers, booze, bullets, and blood.” Sounds bueno.
Here’s the slightly skimpy plot synopsis taken from the Dixie Rose Indiegogo campaign page.
When police fail to turn up any leads, the victim’s father hires private detective, Rusty Hammer, to get the answers he so desperately seeks from the sleazy inhabitants of the city’s grimy underbelly.
Backers can get a digital version of Dixie Rose for $20, while signed physical copies start at $25. If you have more cash to throw around, you can also receive a a bottle opener, t-shirt, and an opportunity to have your likeness drawn into the final book. It is also worth noting that there is a buxom additional shipping charge starting at $10 for those in the United States.
The best part? The Dixie Rose project is already fully funded, so now all that is left to focus on the stretch goals and fulfillment.
