The World’s Greatest AverageHero Returns in “Joe King Book 2” (Crowdfunding Spotlight)

Last week, independent comic book creator George Peter Gatsis launched a crowdfunding campaign for Joe King Book 2, a 120-page sci-fi superhero sequel starring “the world’s greatest averagehero” who looks to be a cross between Cookie Monster and Superman.

What kind of audience is Joe King created for? According to the book’s Indiegogo campaign page, Joe King is for fans of “superheroes, Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy, Anime, Galaxina, Red Dwarf, Pizza…” kind of a broad net, don’t ya think?

More specifically, here’s the brief story synopsis taken from the Joe King Indiegogo campaign page:

Joe ordered a deluxe pizza as the Earth is taken across the universe right in the path of a SuperNova!

The crew of the Ladystar has 120 minutes to save the Earth before the pizza gets delivered!

Backers can get a copy of Joe King Book 2 for $65. Steep? Maybe, but worldwide shipping is 100% free. If you have more cash to spend, you can also pick up a copy of the first book, too (also 120 pages) if you need to catch up.

The best part? The Joe King Book 2 campaign is already fully funded, so now it’s time to focus on the stretch goals and fulfillment.
