Core Comics’ “Artifice Re-Animate” – a Dystopian Tale from Down Under (Crowdfunding Spotlight)

Earlier this month, Australian comic book house Core Comics launched a crowdfunding campaign for Artifice Re-Animate, a sci-fi fantasy book written by storytelling team of SMiRKtheALiEN and RaginMantis and featuring illustrations by Vic King and colors by Barbusco,

But what is Artifice about? Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Indiegogo campaign page:

After a chaotic incident at sea, Dany washes ashore the dystopian hellscape of Velrona…

The larger story begins unfolding as Dany confronts the surface of the worlds deeper mysteries, ancient secrets, and the insanity of unknown hyper-technologically advanced civilisations, as forces beyond his comprehension propel him on a collision course towards the ever-blurring grey areas between past and future…

Backers can get a copy of Artifice for $27 (converted from $36 Australian dollary-doos). If you have more cash to spend, you can also pick up a head sketch, original artwork, or the chance to have your likeness drawn into the final product. It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $15 for those in the United States.

The best part is that Artifice is already fully funded, so now all that Core Comics has to worry about is stretch goals… and fulfillment, of course.
