“Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2” Delayed on PS5

CI Games recently announced that the PS5 version of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has been delayed. Previously scheduled to launch on 4 June alongside the PS4, Xbox One, SeXbox and Steam PC versions, the PS5 version is now tentatively scheduled for “later in 2021.”

According to CI Games, the delay is due to “unforeseen technical issues discovered in the weeks leading up to launch.” If you’re a PS5 gamer disappointed by the delay, CI Games has a plan to make it up to you.

According to CI Games executive producer Tobias Heussner:

“We could not have foreseen these issues… However, we would like to assure our players that our highly experienced, professional and dedicated team are working hard with the platform holder and engine provider to resolve the problems as soon as feasibly possible, to ensure we can bring the PlayStation 5 community the high caliber sniping game they have been waiting for. We will offer a free digital upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version with all physical and digital purchases of the PlayStation 4 release.”

A free upgrade to the PS5 version? Not a bad compromise. To sweeten the pot, however, CI Games will also be giving away the first major downloadable content release to gamers across all platforms. This includes both new contracts and a new playable map.

While we all wait for Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 to launch (some waiting longer than others), you can check out the game’s latest trailer below.
