Billy Tucci’s “Shi: Omnibus Vol. 1” Now Breaking Hearts (and Wallets) on Indiegogo
On Tuesday, renowned comic book creator, Crusade Comics founder and “Teen Sensation” Billy Tucci launched a crowdfunding campaign for Shi: Omnibus Volume 1, the hardcover book that collects all 12 issues of Shi: Way of the Warrior, the three-part Tomoe miniseries, and the 48-page Shi Vs. Tomoe, making a thicc 488-page total.
At the time of this writing, the campaign is already fully funded, having raised more than $60 thousand (and it’s been less than a day). Yosh!
Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Shi: Omnibus Indiegogo campaign page:
This modern-day samurai saga introduces the story of Ana Ishikawa, a young woman born of two cultures and drafted into a shadow war that has existed for over 500 years. In this complete omnibus, we follow Ana as she begins her violent assault on the Yakuza Oyabun Masahiro Arashi. But after several fiery clashes and witnessing the grieving children of those she’s slain in battle; Ana turns away from the sword.
Now the hunter becomes the hunted as Arashi seeks his own revenge against this faceless assailant… and his answer Ana’s Kyoto Sohei (descendants of the medieval warrior-monks) centuries-old enemy, the Narans, led by her best friend, the sociopathic assassin Tomoe.
Heartbreaking twists and exhilarating turns ensue as Ana’s mission unravels into one of blood and madness… and whose culmination’s only salvation is mercy and forgiveness.
