The Clock is Ticking to Back 80s-Inspired Horror Comic “Midnight Highway”
Comic book creator Michael Tener recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Midnight Highway issues 1 and 2, a new comic designed for fans of 80s horror and sci-fi.
Co-created and co-written by Tener and Alex Maday and featuring illustrations by Alexander Malyshev and colors by Hedwin Zaldivar, Midnight Highway is described as Alice in Wonderland meets The Twilight Zone.
Here’s the official pitch taken from the Midnight Highway Indiegogo campaign page:
MIDNIGHT HIGHWAY follows the misadventures of Alex, a teenage boy lost on a mysterious, supernatural road where anything can and will happen.
In the first issue, Alex stumbles onto the Midnight Highway after escaping a horrifying creature in a high speed chase through a lightning storm.
In the latest issue, Alex finds himself in a haunted arcade, forced to play a game called “The Gauntlet” for a chance to get back home to Kelly, the love of his life, or continue to hopelessly wander the endless Midnight Highway.
Backers can get a digital version of Midnight Highway issue 2 for $5, while both issues are $10. If you prefer a physical copy (and who can blame you?), you can get issue 2 for $10 and both issues for $20. If you have more money to spend, you can also receive the following:
- A 3D version of the books
- A glow-in-the-dark sticker
- A glow-in-the-dark t-shirt
- A foil trading card
- Glow-in-the-dark glasses
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $4 for those in the United States.
Interested? You’d better jump on it, as Midnight Highway is only available for a few more hours at the time of this writing (though it’s possible that it may go in-demand). You can check out some sample artwork below or visit the full Midnight Highway Indiegogo campaign page here.
