Taito’s “Typhoon Gal” Now on PS4, Switch via the Arcade Archives
Game publisher Hamster has announced that Typhoon Gal, the 2D action arcade game, is now available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1985, Typhoon Gal has never received an official home release until now.
In Typhoon Gal, players control a young martial artist named Yuki, who goes toe-to-toe with opponents from rival martial arts schools. For the best chance of success, wear your opponent down with simple, minor techniques before taking them down with a more powerful major technique.
Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste. It is also worth noting that this release uses the Japanese ROM of the game.
Arcade Archives Typhoon Gal is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop. You can check out some screenshots below, or visit the official Hamster website here for additional info.
