Army Veteran Chris Reader Brings “The Vigilantes” to Indiegogo

On Friday, aspiring comic book creator and U.S. Army veteran Chris Reader launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Vigilantes, a 48-page superhero adventure graphic novel.

Written and illustrated by Reader and featuring illustrations by Dan Olvera, The Vigilantes is intended as the first installment of a six book arc. Here’s the official pitch taken from The Vigilantes Indiegogo campaign page:

The Vigilantes is a story about legacy and how we want to leave the world for our children. When the world’s first and most famous Vigilante, Massive Man, introduces his son Josh as the newest Vigilante he finds the community he helped create is not what it was when he retired. As Massive Man struggles to communicate with this new brand of Vigilante an old threat resurfaces. The timing is ominous. Could it be a coincidence or is it something more? Massive Man must gain the trust of these new Vigilantes and turn them into a formidable force for justice in time to stop the oncoming threat.

Backers can get a digital version of The Vigilantes for $10, while physical copies start at $25. If you have more cash to spend, you can also pick up the following:

  • Multiple copies of the book
  • Variant covers
  • A Vigilantes guide book
  • Multiple character art prints
  • Original sketches

It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $6 for those in the United States.
