Issue 2 of Laurant Valles Jr.’s “Sacrifice” Now on Kickstarter

On Monday, independent comic book creator and military veteran Laurant Valles Jr. launched a crowdfunding campaign for issues 1 and 2 of Sacrifice, which Valles describes as a “horror comedy series filled with action.” The project is well on its way to being fully funded, having raised more than half of its initial funding goal in the first 24 hours.

Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Sacrifice Kickstarter campaign page:

Mei Lacey was a typical college student moving away from home for the first time. Her first week away from home was anything but normal, as she was thrust into a world of monsters and magic that is unknown to the common man. All this happening because she has connections to an ancient and mysterious spell book. As all hope seemed lost, she was saved by Damien Blackwell, a man with unreal amounts of demonic power that come from his soul being bound to Lucifer. Despite his connection to the being that is the pinnacle of evil, Damien makes his living fighting monsters and keeping people safe from supernatural threats.

What to expect in Issue 2

In Issue 2 we get to meet the majority of the main characters that make up Damien’s team. On top of meeting the main cast, we also delve into what the plot of this first arc, which is centered around stopping the evil cult known as the Dark Order. There will be plenty of action with our main characters fighting a plethora of demons, which I’ll show a sneak peak of below.

Backers can get a digital version of Sacrifice issue 2 for $5, while physical copies start at $8 (or even less if you buy into the project in the first 48 hours). If you have more money to spend, you can also receive the following:

  • Multiple copies of the book
  • Variant covers
  • Copies of issue 1 if you need to catch up
  • The chance to design a demonic monster in issue 3 of Sacrifice
