Taito’s “Fighting Hawk” Joins the Arcade Archives on Nintendo Switch and PS4

Game publisher Hamster has announced that 2D vertical shoot ‘em up Fighting Hawk is now available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch as part of the digital Arcade Archives series.

Originally released in arcades by Taito in 1988, this Arcade Archives release is the first home console port of Fighting Hawk outside of Japan.

Fighting Hawk is a 2D, vertically scrolling shooter that can be played by 1 or 2 players. Gamers must take flight in the fighter plane FALCON (not Hawk?) and defeat an onslaught of enemies through multiple stages, including cities, plains, icebergs, glaciers, and snowfields (we get it, Taito, you like ice) lots of ice). The final battle pits you against the enemy’s latest advanced bomber known as the DRAGON BAT.

Like other Arcade Archives titles, players can post their high scores to the online leaderboards and change various game settings to match their own personal skill levels and taste.

Arcade Archives Fighting Hawk is available today for $7.99 via PSN and the Nintendo Switch eShop.
