“Al Capone, Vampire” is Back for a Big Score… Your Blood!
Independent comic book creator J.C. Vaughn launched a crowdfunding campaign for Al Capone: Vampire issue 1, a 32+ page horror/crime comic. The project is already fully funded, having so far raised more than $2500 between both Kickstarter and Indiegogo.
Written and created by Vaughn and featuring illustrations by Brendon and Brian Fraim, Al Capone: Vampire resurrects the infamous Chicago mob boss for a new reign of supernatural horror.
Here’s the official breakdown of Al Capone: Vampire from the Indiegogo campaign page:
It’s Al Capone. He’s back, and he’s a vampire.
This is one of those rare times when the title sort of really does tell you everything you need to know.
In VAMPIRE, PA: PITTSBURGH NOIR, we met Dean Marklin. Dean was fairly happy in his life as an above-average HVAC repair man in suburban Pittsburgh until he found out that his hometown, Dormont, was infested with vampires. In fact, they’d taken over his childhood favorite theater, the now-long-abandoned movie palace known as The Grand. What’s worse, at least according to Dean, was that he discovered he’s very good at killing vampires. Now he’s trying to keep up with his day job, maintain a new relationship, and rid Dormont of the undead, particularly the seductive Jocelyn…
In VAMPIRE, PA: BITE OUT OF CRIME, the story continued and added the newly-returned Al Capone to the mix, forcing Dean and company into an uneasy truce with Jocelyn.
Now Big Al has returned to Chicago and he’s doing things his way, and it’s probably just what you’d expect: trouble for the crime families, the gangs, and the other vampires who rule the night in the Windy City. Teamed up with his modern-day counterpart, Duncan Leeds, Capone is back in business!
Both the VPA: PITTSBURGH NOIR trade paperback and the VPA: BITE OUT OF CRIME one-shot are available as ADD-ON PERKS for this campaign while our supplies of each last. They will definitely contribute to your enjoyment of AL CAPONE, VAMPIRE #1, and we think you’d enjoy them, but you don’t have to read them to understand what’s going on in this issue!
