“Clint Stoker’s Dracula” Sinks Its Teeth Into Your Pocketbook on Indiegogo
On Wednesday, independent comic book creator (and really-real descendent of Bram Stoker) Clint Stoker launched a crowdfunding campaign for Dracula, a 56-page, black & white, hardcover(!) graphic novel.
In addition to already being fully funded, all of the story, art, lettering and prepress are 100% complete, so there should be fewer hangups getting Dracula into the backers’ clutches.
Written by Clint Stoker (Downcast), and featuring illustrations by Donal Delay (Cash Grab) and lettering by the prolific Eric Weathers (Battle Brick Road), this new interpretation gives the classic horror tale a modern twist, setting the story in current day USA.
Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Clint Stoker’s Dracula Indiegogo campaign page, followed by a celebratory launch stream from Stoker’s Sweetcast Youtube channel:
In modern America, new lawyer, Jon Harker celebrates his engagement when he is contacted by his soon-to-be brother-in-law, who has witnessed something truly horrific while working for Dracula’s empire. When Harker agrees to help, he is pulled into the strange and secretive world of the most powerful man nobody knows – Dracula.
Backers can get a digital version of Clint Stoker’s Dracula for $20, while hardcover physical copies start at $25. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following:
- Multiple copies of the book
- A variant cover
- Trading card set
- Copies of Clint Stoker’s Downcast series
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $8 for those in the United States.
