The Tribulation Looms in “Dominus II: Babylon Rising” (Crowdfunding Spotlight)
Independent comic book creator Daniel Thompson recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Dominus II: Babylon Rising, a 68-page follow-up to the first Dominus book that was successfully crowdfunded in 2018. The project is already fully funded, having raised more than $5 thousand at the time of this writing.
Written and created by Thompson and featuring illustrations by Eliseu Gouveia and colors by Barbusco, Dominus is a adventure set in the apocalyptic days of the Biblical Tribulation (it’s in Revelation, yo).
Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Dominus II Indiegogo campaign page:
Dominus II: Babylon Rising takes place one year after the events in the first Dominus book. Thomas Banning, the leader of the Dominus, successfully led the group in a campaign protecting the Holy Grail from Raymond Crane and his diabolical Phoenix Project. Although successful, the victory came at a cost as the group lost their friend and mentor Father Marvin O’Brien. The group also learned that Raymond Crane, the anti-christ, was not so easily defeated, as he and the Dominus are now locked in a “cold war”. Thomas has prepared and inserted each member of the Dominus into different sectors of society to be on guard for the Phoenix Project and their next move…
For weeks, Thomas has had the same reoccurring dream that turns into a nightmarish warning of an imminent attack. The enemy fulfills Thomas’s prophetic vision as they launch a surprise attack on each member of the Dominus. The Phoenix Project quickly learns that Thomas and his friends are well prepared and more than a match for them as they drive them off. However, the victory is short-lived as one of the Dominus falls victim to an old enemy…
The Dominus regroup and set out to find the mysterious Babylon Base, located in the eye of a hurricane. They must survive the storm and all the dangers that await them if they have any hope of rescuing their missing friend and surviving the trap that has been set for them.
