Shane Davis’ “Inglorious Rex” Comic Raises $300k Before Closeout

Overnight, renowned comic book creator Shane Davis shut down the in-demand store for Inglorious Rex, but not before crossing the impressive $300 thousand threshold.

Originally launched on Indiegogo in September 2021, the Inglorious Rex sales rallied in the final 48 hours, raising an additional $20k before the final bell.

With that $300k total, Inglorious Rex more than doubled Davis’ previous crowdfunding outing Starlight Cats, which raised approximately $128 thousand before its close in early 2021.

Davis marked the occasion with a closeout livestream on the Comic Artist Pro Secrets YouTube channel hosted by Ethan Van Sciver, which you can watch below.

Co-written by Davis and Yanzi Lin and featuring pencils by Davis, inks by Lin, and colors by Jason Wright, Inglorious Rex is set in a futuristic world where martial arts are dominated by genetically-engineered super-fighters.

If you missed out, your door is closed for the time being, though there will very likely be opportunities to pick up a reprint copy in future campaigns.

Congratulations to Davis, Lin, baby Pterodactyl, and the rest of the Inglorious Rex team. You can check out our previous coverage of Inglorious Rex here.
