Fantasy Comic “Beckoned: Recourse” Now on Indiegogo (Crowdfunding Spotlight)

But who is creating the book?

Zade Studios recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Beckoned: Recourse, a 32-page fantasy comic book intended for a Teen (and up) audience.

Written by… erm, and illustrated by… well, the campaign doesn’t say, but after a heads up in the comments, it looks like Jeremy Thevenot is both writer and artist.*

In any case, the Beckoned: Recourse project is already fully funded, having raised more than $6 thousand at the time of this writing.

Here’s the brief pitch taken from the Beckoned: Recourse Indiegogo campaign page:

The fate of Tula’Banya beckons a Jiri father to protect the light of hope from being extinguished by the encroaching Denithite empire of Thal.

As the first issue of a three part prologue, this story ignites the key conflict for the long-form BECKONED comic series.

Backers can get a black and white version of Beckoned: Recourse for $15, while color editions start at $20. If you have more money to spend, you can also pick up the following tchotchkes and extras:

  • Multiple copies of the book
  • Variant covers
  • Poster
  • A Loden crystal
  • Sketch card
  • A graphite (pencil) character sketch

It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $10 for those in the United States.

*Updated to include the creator’s name. Thanks to Darren Waggoner for the heads up!
