Retro-Inspired Action Platformer “Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider” Coming to Switch, PlayStation, PC in January
A totalitarian government has taken control of its people’s lives (not based on actual events)… time to start slashing!
Game publisher The Arcade Crew recently announced that action platformer Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider is planned to release on 12 January 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and PC.
Developed by JoyMasher, Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider is inspired by the 2D action games of the glorious 1990s, complete with a limited color palette and throwback audio techniques. You take control of Moonrider, a cybernetic ninja on a quest for revenge in a world strangled under totalitarian government control.
Here’s the official breakdown of Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider from The Arcade Crew, followed by a recent gameplay trailer:
Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider recalls the best classic action game elements in the laser-precise sights of its starring ninja, keeping combat snappy, responsive and challenging. Powerful modifier chips are guarded and hidden throughout the adventure, allowing the cyborg super soldier to customize its fighting style while gaining killer advantages and abilities.
The game’s gorgeously desolated world expertly recreates the 16-bit era through intricate pixel art and crunchy audio, building a striking, compact gauntlet across eight deadly stages.
Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider revels in top-notch, refined platforming action for a tight, focused experience that never lets its blade get dull.
Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider is currently scheduled to release on 12 January for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and PC.
