Sci-Fi Anthology “Jupiter” Now on Indiegogo

By Jove!

Independent comic book creator Jason Sandberg recently launched launched a crowdfunding campaign for Jupiter issue 1, an ongoing sci-fi anthology series written and illustrated by Sandberg, Jupiter is an anthology

The project is already fully funded, having raised $1300 at the time of this writing. Even better (if you’re a backer, I suppose), is that all work on issue 1 is already complete, work on issue 2 currently underway, and there are plans in place for at least 20 issues.

Like the similarly titled book published in the 1990s, Jupiter will feature a 24-page main feature along with 16 pages of “surrealist and heroic short stories.”

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Jupiter Indiegogo campaign page:

Brenda Marshfield, a teenager trapped in an unhappy home, until the discovery of a magical amulet gives her the ability to escape to anywhere… or stay to become a hero!

Seeking solace at an isolated cabin, a family vacation collides with the opening of a hole in space and time. The repercussions of a violent revolution in a neighboring dimension forever change the lives of Brenda Marshfield’s parents and grant her possession of powers unimagined.

What will she do?

Who will she become?

Read this beginning chapter of a gorgeously illustrated heroic journey!

JUPITER comes from a place that men have sought, but rarely found… that echo domain that resides at the intersection of epiphany and eureka!

Beset by the hammer blows of entropy, the fates brought the Age of corporate comicbooks to a close!

Suddenly, in a defiant reply, a sky bolt delivered JUPITER to a bewildered world!

Witness how it begins… an indescribable flash beyond the horizon… JUPITER appears before those seeking the unseen!

This broken world is unchanged… but it will never be the same…

If the newspapers shall be filled with nightmares, comicbooks should be filled with dreams!

Let all Comicbook readers prepare for the approaching noontide alongside JUPITER!

Backers can get a copy of Jupiter issue 1 for $10. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:
