Post-World War Superheroics in “The Unbreakable Argonauts” (Crowdfunding Spotlight)

And there’s a gorilla.
Independent comic book creator Ashley Land launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Unbreakable Argonauts issue 1, a giant-sized, 64-page graphic novel.
Written by Land and illustrated by Daniel Max, this first issue of The Unbreakable Argonauts is intended as the start of an all-new superhero universe that promises stories that will “take the heroic team all over the world, pitting them against unique villains, monsters and have them going on incredible adventures.”
Here’s the official pitch taken from the The Unbreakable Argonauts Indiegogo campaign page:
The story takes place in the early 1950s, and sees the Unbreakable Argonauts divided when several key members of their powerful rogues gallery unite. With two of their own in danger, the remaining heroes set out to rescue them, and prevent the villains’ plan from coming to fruition. The first issue doesn’t just set up the future but is a callback to the past of the Argonaut universe.
Backers can get a digital version of The Unbreakable Argonauts for approximately $11 (converted from Euros), while physical copies start at approximately $22. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:
- Multiple copies of the book
- Variant covers
- A bonus art book
- The chance to have your likeness drawn into the final book
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $9 for those in the United States.
