Mystical Comics launches “The Good Knight: Nightmare Realm” on Indiegogo

Last week, aspiring independent comics publisher Mystical Comics launched its first project, The Good Knight: Nightmare Realm #1 on Indiegogo. Intended as the start of a new shared universe, The Good Knight is a black and white, 12-issue maxi-series for mature audiences written by Crystal McGhee and illustrated by Francisco Narde.
Here’s a plot summary taken from the Indiegogo campaign page.
“Sir Alexander, a medieval knight from the past, trapped in the form of a teddy bear by his previous Master, finds himself indebted to Eric, and tasked with protecting his son.
“Queen Belladonna will stop at nothing to enact her revenge against Eric, of whom she shares a complicated and entangled past.
“She plans to kidnap his only son and sacrifice him as a vessel for the Dragon King, who is foretold to one day return.
“Now, Sir Alexander must enlist both friend and foe to retrieve Jack on a long and grueling quest, leaving earth behind to travel to Zarthas, Queen Belladonna’s home world.”
Backers can buy into The Good Knight #1 for $5, which will get you a digital copy of the book, while physical copies (all signed) start at $15. If you want to spend more, you can get a t-shirt and extra copies of the book (including a variant cover). Stretch goals include trading cards, a hoodie, and even a copy of the second issue of the series.
