It’s up, up and away for “Downcast”; fully funded on first day of Indiegogo campaign
On Tuesday, author and YouTube host Clint Stoker (aka Sweetcast) launched a crowdfunding campaign for Downcast via Indiegogo. Downcast is a
48-page 52-page graphic novel written by Stoker, featuring artwork by Ignacio Lazaro and letters by Eric Weathers.
The project was fully funded in the first 12 hours.
Here’s a plot summary taken from the Downcast Indiegogo page.
“Joanne and her brother Jax are on the run from a corrupt government when the power to control gravity falls into their hands. With their father held captive and sentenced to death, can they use this legendary and incredibly powerful weapon to save him before it’s too late?”
Backers can get a digital version of Downcast for $10, while physical copies of the book start at $15 (all signed). If you want more swag, there are options for extra copies of the book and a poster print. Other backing tiers have already sold out.
Now that the Downcast project is fully funded, there are several stretch goals planned if the funding reaches higher benchmarks. At the time of this writing, the goal for an extra 4 pages of story has already been achieved, while other goals include a sketch & behind-the-scenes development section, stickers, a bookmark, and a matte finish cover. It’s looking extremely likely that all of these stretch goals will be met in short order.
