E3: Tripwire releases new trailer for shark RPG “Maneater”

Tripwire Interactive revealed Maneater at E3 2018. and this year during the PC gaming press conference, the company released an all-new trailer for their submarine RPG, this time featuring the game’s antagonist, Scaly Pete (voiced by Chris Parnell). You can watch the new trailer below.

Maneater is an open-world, action RPG set in the Gulf Coast where players control a giant bull shark out for revenge against the humans who slaughtered your mother. What kind of revenge? The kind where you rip and tear unsuspecting beach-goers and ocean explorers limb from limb! Glorious.

In addition to the bloody fun of reducing your human targets to meaty chum, players can explore a variety of settings, including sunken wrecks, swamps, or the open ocean. You’ll also be able to upgrade and customize your shark with a variety of stats or evolved body parts.

Here’s a rundown of the game from Tripwire:

Experience the ultimate power fantasy as the apex predator of the seas – a giant Shark! Terrorize the coastal waterways. Tear swimmers and divers limb from limb, give the humans a reason to fear you!

Maneater is a Single-Player Action RPG, set in the Gulf Coast’s unforgiving waters. Fight to survive in the open ocean, swamps and rivers with danger lurking at every depth. Your only tools are your wits, your jaws, and an uncanny ability to evolve as you feed. Eat. Grow. Evolve!

Maneater looks like tons of fun, though it does not currently have a release date and is exclusive to the Epic Games Store* on PC for the time being.
