Comic creators Deltrez & Giles bring Lovecraftian horrors to Indiegogo with “The Deep Dark”

On Monday, independent comic book creators Gilbert Deltrez (Pistolera, Lair) and J. L. Giles (Under the Flesh) launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Deep Dark,* a standalone horror comic featuring bikini babes, tentacles, and Lovecraftian influences. (Hey! I’ve seen that movie!)

Here’s the pitch taken from The Deep Dark‘s Indiegogo campaign page:

WHAT IS THE DEEP DARK?

It’s a deathly underwater creature feature centered around a bachelorette party in the open sea.

Think “LOVECRAFT”  meets “JAWS!”

THE DEEP DARK is a self contained 30 page one-shot. The first to a series of interconnected pulp horror stories featuring a new breed of “Lovecraftian” inspired elder Gods by Gilbert Deltrez & J.L. Giles.

Backers can get a digital version of The Deep Dark for $10, while physical copies start at $15. If you’ve got more cash to throw around, you can also pick up a few extra perk, including a variant cover, additional copies of the book, a poster print, sketch card, and even the chance to have your likeness drawn into the final product.

As an added bonus all backers at the physical level will receive free digital copies of Under the Flesh #2 -3 and Herbert West Reanimator – Chapter 1. What about UTF #1, you ask? You can read that for free via a link provided on The Deep Dark‘s Indiegogo page without contributing a single nickel nor dime. Now that’s some motivated salesmanship!
