Alterna Comics launches “Twelve Days of Alterna” charity event (Jolly Jinglings Special)

On Monday, Alterna Comics founder Peter Simeti (aka Publishing Pete, aka Saint Peter of the blessed Newsprint) launched “Twelve Days of Alterna” a special charity crowdfunding campaign benefiting both Toys for Tots and Portion for Orphans. At the time of this writing, the Indiegogo campaign is well on its way to achieving its funding goal, which means that 100 all-ages comic books will be donated to Toys for Tots, and 10% of the proceeds will go to the Portion for Ophans charity.

But you aren’t just donating money, Alterna is giving away bonuses depending on how much you contribute. Backers can buy in starting at $12, choosing either a pack of five all-ages comics or a “5-minute sketch” card by Peter Simeti. There are several other options if you’d like to spend a bit more, including multiple graphic novels, backing board sketches, and original artwork by Eden creator Eric Henson. Most of the backer levels also come with a bonus “mystery” graphic novel, and all levels include free shipping if you are inside the U.S. If the campaign crosses a number stretch goal thresholds, then all backers will receive extra bonuses including a bookmark, poster print, pin, trading card, poster, and extra comics.

In a giving mood? You can support the Twelve Days of Alterna Indiegogo campaign here. As the name implies, the Twelve Days of Alterna is running for just twelve days, so don’t dawdle! If you instead prefer to donate directly to the charities, you can visit Toys for Tots here and Portion for Orphans here.
