Give the Gift of “Stoker & Wells” for Christmas
Successfully crowdfunded in 2019, Stoker & Wells: Order of the Golden Dawn follows the time-traveling adventures of literary visionaries Bram Stoker and H. G. Wells that is kinda-sorta based on actual events.
Now, the Stoker & Wells creators have set up an Indiegogo page with the express intention of using it as an in-demand storefront, as the books are already printed. The book itself as well as the various extras are specially priced for Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever-holiday-you-find-least-offensive. Digital copies of Stoker & Wells are $10, while physical copies start at $16. For those with more scratch at hand, you can also pick up a bookmark set, mug, and two limited edition art prints.
But what is Stoker & Wells all about? Here’s the official pitch taken from the Stoker & Wells Indiegogo page:
Stoker & Wells: Order of the Golden Dawn — 1894 London, a 20-something H.G. Wells and a 40-something Bram Stoker meet and have a very unexpected 48-hour adventure that leads to the creative inspiration for both writer’s first great success – The Time Machine for Wells and Dracula for Stoker. It is not only a thrilling, scary, fun, and beautifully drawn adventure tale, but also a story about putting aside fear and self-doubt and stepping into your true identity. A huge part of our motivation is to inspire children (of all ages) to READ and to WRITE.
Created & Written by Steven Peros (SHI: Return of the Warrior, SHI: Haikyo) and Illustrated by Barry Orkin (SHI: Way of the Warrior, Demon Gun), Stoker & Wells: Order of the Golden Dawn is a printed & ready-to-ship, full color, 94-page graphic novel of the highest professional standard.
We at The Splintering recently reviewed SHI: Return of the Warrior (here) and gave it high marks, so if Peros’ Stoker & Wells work is on par, it should be a solid read.
