Over the weekend, Chimera Comics launched a crowdfunding campaign for Testament, a 52-page graphic novel that, at the time of this writing, is well on its way to becoming fully funded having raised more than $2,500 of a $4 thousand goal.

Written by Chimera and featuring illustrations by Juliano Silva, colors by Marcos Martin, and letters by (drum roll, please…) Eric Weathers (Battle Brick Road), Testament is a science fiction/fantasy book akin to Mad Max and Vampire Hunter D.

Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Testament Indiegogo campaign page:

Testament takes place in the year 10,081 on the planet Von. Von is a harsh planet composed of five regions, each one ruled by antagonistic warlords.

The story focuses on Karl, an orphaned drifter and sellsword, who arrives to the region of Reinland on a quest for revenge. The region of Reinland is controlled by the oppressive King Albrecht von Magnusson. The King has started occupations in the other regions of planet Von in hopes of recovering the technology of his ancient ancestors, the Old Gods.

Karl sets out for revenge after the massacre of his raiding clan, but later joins an underground rebel group. Made up of runaways, criminals, and ex-soldiers, the rebel group intends to overthrow the King and establish order to Reinland. Along the way, Karl learns of his bloodline and the power he inherits.
