A Rookie Cop Tackles Crime and Corruption in Star Cross Comics’ “The Relentless Tin Soldier”
On Monday, aspiring comic book creator Nicholas Geer launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Relentless Tin Soldier, a new superhero adventure book that will be published by Star Cross Comics.
Created and written by Geer and featuring illustrations by Sika Murti, colors by Walter Pereyra and lettering by the ever-prolific Eric Weathers, The Relentless Tin Soldier looks to be inspired by the patriotic, star-spangled heroes of the Golden and Silver Ages of comics (when heroes fought bad guys, behaved heroically, and didn’t waste the full measure of their books to sipping espresso and going on dates).
Here’s the official pitch taken from The Relentless Tin Soldier Indiegogo campaign page:
Follow Benjamin Pearson as he fights crime and corruption and begins his journey to becoming the hero he was destined to be!
Benjamin Pearson, a rookie cop who sets out to take down the most influential crime family plaguing Minneapolis… The Colletta Family. As expected, an organization with so much influence, was not going down without a fight and to stop him, the Colletta Family, might just have inadvertently created the one hero that can bring their criminal organization to a halt once and for all.
Best part is this book is already completed and just waiting for your help and contribution so that we can go to print!
Backers can get a copy of The Relentless Tin Soldier for $12. For those with more money to throw around, you can also pick up:
- Multiple copies of the book
- Variant covers
- Original art (including work by Graham Nolan, Andy Smith and the cover art by Billy Tucci)
- Original Concept Art
Samples of the interior art are somewhat scant at the moment (which is odd for a book that is described as “completed”), but you can check out a bit of sample artwork below. Of course, you can also visit The Relentless Tin Soldier Indiegogo campaign page here.
