Rune Cutter Comics is Back for More Cleavage in “Butch Cleaver 2”

Independent comic book creator and Rune Cutter Comics founder Matt Burke recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Butch Cleaver 2, the 52-page sequel to the first Butch Cleaver graphic novel that was successfully crowdfunded in 2020.

Written and illustrated by Burke, Butch Cleaver 2 is a hyper-violent supernatural fantasy book that is described as an unholy combination of Batman, Swamp Thing, Jonah Hex and Hellboy.

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Butch Cleaver 2 Indiegogo campaign page:

In the town of Oubliette rides Butch Cleaver astride his dead bull Tore. With the power to weaponize bone Butch will come face to face with The Voodoo Doll and his crucible of lieutenants, continuing his crusade in solving his murder, taking a deep dive into his past and having a couple of whiskey-milk shots at the Warg Skoll Saloon.

Will he solve his murder? Is he past the point of redemption? Or was he just a product of his environment? Find out more in the sequel to last summer’s gothic-horror-western. Is he THE VICTIM, THE VILLAIN OR THE VICTOR?

Backers can get a signed copy of Butch Cleaver 2 for $25. If you have more money to throw around, you can also receive:

  • Multiple copies of the book
  • A variant cover
  • A head sketch
  • Original artwork
  • T-shirt
  • A copy of the first book if you want to catch up

It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $10 for those in the United States.
