Empire Comics’ “Wraith of God” Scaring Up Big Bucks on Indiegogo
On Thursday, veteran comic book creator Aaron Lopresti launched his own independent comic book label, Empire Comics, with a crowdfunding campaign for Wraith of God, an all-new, 72-page graphic novel.
The campaign is already off to a great start, having raised more than $35 thousand at the time of this writing. With those numbers, that means the first stretch goal is already unlocked (it’s a bonus Empire Comics sticker).
But what about the book? Written and illustrated by Lopresti (Justice League, X-Men) and featuring colors by Brian Miller and Hi-Fi, Wraith of God is a supernatural western pitting man against monsters.
Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from the Wraith of God Indiegogo campaign page:
In the American west of 1883, the WRAITH is a mysterious hero with a dark past who is relentlessly driven to administer the wrath of God on the evil supernatural forces that contaminate the land. A master of illusionand disguise, the Wraith is aided by a former Salvation Army worker named Esther who frequently finds herself at odds with her mentor. It’s a race against time and death as together they try to stop a pack of werewolves from obtaining a mystical amulet that will make them invincible.
Backers can get a signed copy of Wraith of God for $25. If you have more money to spend, you can also pick up the following:
