Graham Nolan’s Horror/Western Comic “Alien Alamo” Crosses the Six Figures Threshold

Ya’ love to see it!
On Monday, the crowdfunding campaign for Graham Nolan’s sci-fi/western Alien Alamo crossed the blessed “Six Figures, Bitch Young Lady!” threshold, raising nearly $101 thousand at the time of this writing.
Written and illustrated by Nolan, Alien Alamo is a sci-fi adventure that exists in the larger Chenoo universe. Nolan has seen previous crowdfunding success with The Chenoo and the Monster Island series, but this is his first campaign to blow past the $100k mark.
The occasion was celebrated on a livestream hosted by Ethan Van Sciver on his Comic Artist Pro Secrets YouTube channel, which you can watch below.
This is yet another example of how both new and veteran comic book creators alike are uniting under the “ComicsGate”* banner; successfully using crowdfunding to connect directly with audiences without the need for corporate approval or agenda-driven interference.
Congratulations to Graham Nolan and everyone else on the Compass Comics team. You can check out more of our Alien Alamo coverage here, or visit the project’s Indiegogo campaign page here.
*Note: We define “ComicsGate” as a loosely-knit network of comic book creators and consumers disillusioned with plummeting traditional comic book sales and concerns of political/ideological encroachment into the professional practices of the comics industry.
