“SPQR’s Bizarre Adventure” Is a Manga-Inspired Take on Roman History

“Great Caesar’s ghost!”
Last Friday, 9 Realms Publishing launched a crowdfunding campaign for SPQR’s Bizarre Adventure: Rubicon Invaders, an over-the-top comic book retelling of the Roman civil wars inspired by the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series.
The campaign also serves as an opportunity to soft-launch a remastered edition of Elysian Fields: Pyramid Gambit (aptly titled Elysian Fields: Pyramid Gambit Remaster), which features new coloring by Avery Ferdinand.
Here’s the official (and pithy) sales pitch from the SPQR’s Bizarre Adventure Indiegogo campaign page:
SPQR’s Bizarre Adventure: Rubicon Invaders is a not-so-accurate historical retelling of “the Rubicon Crossing” the way you never knew you needed – with big muscles, dramatic posing, and barrages of punches!
See Julius Caesar’s clash with Pompey Magnus as he tries to cross the Rubicon to save Rome!
Backers can get a copy of SPQR’s Bizarre Adventure for $10. If you have more cash to spend, you can also pick up the following:
- Elysian Fields #0 REDUX
- Elysian Fields PG Remaster
- Elysian Fields Miniprints
- The Embrace
- Caesar/Pompey Metal Print
- A collector’s box
- An Embrace t-shirt
- An Embrace plushy toy
It is also worth noting that there is an additional shipping charge starting at $10 for those in the United States.
