9 Realms & Global Frequency Resurrects “Judex” from Silent Film to Comic Hero

“Hey Judex, don’t be afraid… You were made to go out and shoot your enemies in the face…” This song writes itself!

Over the weekend, 9 Realms & Global Frequency Studios launched a crowdfunding campaign for Judex, a 30-page black and white comic book loosely based on a 1916 French silent film.

Written by Michael Oden and Aaron Neff and featuring illustrations by Fabrizio Ugolini, Judex is a vigilante tale set in World War II-era France.

The project is already fully funded, having raised more than $6 thousand at the time of this writing.

Here’s the official pitch taken from the Judex Indiegogo campaign page:

Backers can get either a physical or digital version of Judex issue 1 for $10. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive the following tchotchkes and extras:

  • Multiple copies of the book
  • Variant covers
  • Art prints
  • A glow-in-the-dark print
  • A replica La Marianne coin
  • A bonus crossover book with The Black Terror
  • A replica mask
  • A fitted cape
  • A replica revolver
