“Red Rooster” Indiegogo campaign finishes huge; raises $164 thousand

On Thursday, the crowdfunding campaign for Red Rooster: Golden Age came to an end after raising 1090% of its original funding goal for a total of over $164 thousand. Yes, that’s over a thousand percent – not a typo.
Red Rooster: Golden Age is a 60-page graphic novel written and illustrated by Mitch Breitweiser with colors by Elizabeth Breitweiser. Golden Age is also one of the latest independent comics associated with the “Comicsgate” movement to achieve success via crowdfunding, as creators associated with the movement are abandoning major comic publishers due to plummeting sales and concerns of political/ideological encroachment into the professional practices of the comics industry.
At $164 thousand, Golden Age met every one of its stretch goals, including the addition of extra story pages, a gold foil cover, Red Rooster trading cards, and more.
Sorry you missed out? You’re actually in luck. The Red Rooster Indiegogo page has temporarily transitioned to an in-demand online store, with every backing tier still available at the time of this writing.
Congratulations are certainly in order for both Mitch & Elizabeth Breitweiser. $164 thousand is certainly something to crow about!
