After Kickstarter success, “Pistolera” takes a victory lap on Indiegogo

On Wednesday, Headshot Horror Publishing launched an Indiegogo campaign for Pistolera, an all-new 32-page one-shot comic set in the 1800s. Sound familiar? That’s because the book was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter last month. Now, Pistolera creator Gilbert Deltrez is giving those consumers who prefer Indiegogo as a crowdfunding platform a chance to get the book.

Written by Deltrez (Lair) and featuring illustrations by Mateo Martinez (Jetpack Activate) and colors by J.L. Giles (Herbert West Reanimator), Pistolera is described as “a blood-soaked tale of scorn and vengeance.” We recently had the opportunity to interview Deltrez regarding Pistolera, which you can read here.

Here’s a summary of the Pistolera project taken from the Indiegogo page.

“PISTOLERA is a hardboiled western laden with splattered blood, whizzing bullets, death, tenacity, racial slurs, bible verses, and a pissed off pregnant gunslinger!

“If you liked films such as HATEFUL EIGHT, DJANGO UNCHAINED, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO, QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER, HANNIE CAULDER, or any of SERGIO LEONE’s SPAGHETTI WESTERNS, then you will love PISTOLERA!”

Backers can get a digital version of Pistolera for $5, while physical copies with two Indiegogo-exclusive variant cover options are $10. If you’re looking to throw more money at the project, there are options for multiple copies of the book, your likeness drawn onto a personalized wanted poster, livestream time on Deltrez’s YouTube channel, and even an option for Deltrez to critique one of your own comic book scripts.
