Husband and wife team behind “Red Rooster” launching new comic publishing company: Allegiance

Some backers of Mitch Breitweiser’s Red Rooster: Golden Age Indiegogo campaign have raised concerns over the lack of updates on the project. On a recent livestream with Edwin Boyette, Breitweiser answered these concerns, revealing that he has in fact been a very, very busy man. As Breitweiser puts it, “We set out to make an Indiegogo comic book, and ended up with a publishing company.”

In early 2018, Mitch and Elizabeth Breitweiser discussed long-term plans of starting their own comic book publisher. As it turns out, the Red Rooster crowdfunding campaign was so successful, that the husband and wife creative team decided that there was no better time than the present. They started making calls, recruiting talent, and now their new comic publishing company “Allegiance” (government name “Allegiance Arts and Entertainment”) is ready to hit the ground running with several more books in addition to Red Rooster.

The first book is The Futurists, a science fiction adventure which so far has a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vibe. The Futurists is co-written by Mitch Breitweiser and Patrick Stiles, and features artwork by Jackson “Butch” Guice (Superman, Captain America).

The next book is Marshal Bass Reeves, a western title based on the true story of a slave-turned lawman in the American West. Bass Reeves is written by Kevin Grievoux (creator of the Underworld film franchise) and features illustrations by David Williams (Justice League of America) and colors by Kelsey Shannon (Jawbreakers).

The final book discussed was Nora’s Saga, which was described as “Vikings meet The Wizard of Oz.Nora’s Saga features writer Blake Northcott (The North Valley Grimoire) and artwork by Kelsey Shannon.

On the business end of things, Breitweiser announced that Allegiance has hired Patrick Stiles as Editor in Chief, in addition to hiring a Chief Operating Officer whose name still remains a mystery…

Wait…. What about Red Rooster: Golden Age? Now that the Breitweisers have laid so much of the groundwork with Allegiance, the expectation is that the book could be completed as early as the end of this summer. You can still visit Indiegogo and pre-order your copy of Red Rooster: Golden Age here.
