Ethan Van Sciver’s “Cyberfrog 2: Rekt Planet” Crosses $1 Million Milestone

Earlier this week, the crowdfunding campaign for Cyberfrog 2: Rekt Planet passed the incredible “Seven Figures, Bitch!” (Government name: “Seven Figures, Motherfucker!“) threshold, raising more than $1.01 million at the time of this writing.

Written and illustrated by Ethan Van Sciver and featuring colors by Kyle Ritter, Rekt Planet is the 48-page sequel to the massively successful Cyberfrog: Bloodhoney. The Rekt Planet project was an instant crowdfunding success, raking in more than $250 thousand in the first 24 hours.

Van Sciver marked the occasion with a celebratory livestream on his Comic Artist Pro Secrets YouTube channel, which you can watch below.

At these totals, Rekt Planet has set a new record for the most successful crowdfunded comic book on Indiegogo in a single campaign. Only The Order of the Stick, a reprinted edition of a D&D-inspired webcomic crowdfunded via Kickstarter in 2012, has out-raised Cyberfrog: Rekt Planet for the title of most successful crowdfunded comic on any platform. Rekt Planet will have to raise more than $1,254,120 to claim that coveted crown.

Congratulations to Ethan Van Sciver, Kyle Ritter, and the rest of the Rekt Planet team. You can check out the book’s Indiegogo campaign page here, or check out more of The Splintering‘s previous Cyberfrog: Rekt Planet coverage here.
