Michael Derrick’s Sequel to “The Abductables” Now Live on Indiegogo

Over the weekend, independent comic book creator Michael Derrick launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Abductables 2: Reticulous!, the follow-up to to sci-fi/comedy from 2019 (which The Splintering reviewed here. Spoilers! We liked it).

Once again written by Derrick (Grayskale) and illustrated by Ibai Canales (Iron Sights) Reticulous! picks up shortly after the first book left off. Here’s the official plot synopsis taken from The Abductables 2 Indiegogo campaign page:

After the action-packed events of THE ABDUCTABLES, in which aliens learned the hard way that it’s not a smart idea to abduct musclebound insomniacs with roid rage, those very same aliens (at least the ones that survived) must now enlist the ever-ornery Abductee’s help in order to defeat a new and even deadlier threat to the cosmos—THE REPTILIAN!

This extraterrestrial warlord is hellbent on dragging Space Age civilization back to the STONE AGE! And with an evil army of mutant monstrosities known as The Fundament at his command and a rogue Grey scientist in his ear, he just might be able to do it! (Unless The Abductee has anything to say about it!)

Comicdom’s craziest franchise is BACK, and this time it’s WAR!

Backers can get a digital version of The Abductables 2 for $20, while physical copies start at $20. If you have more cash to spend, you can also receive a digital sketchbook, original artwork, a very limited edition “proof” copy, and even the chance to have your likeness drawn into the book as a probing victim! There’s also options that include the first issue of The Abductables if you need to catch up.
