Over the weekend, YouTube personality and independent comic book creator Mandy Summers launched a crowdfunding campaign for Wart the Wizard: the Portal of Echoes, a fantasy/comedy graphic novel intended for all ages.

Once again written by Summers (Pirate Queen) and featuring illustrations by Peter Gilmore (Super Dead), Portal of Echoes is the sequel to 2020’s fantasy adventure… wait for it… Wart the Wizard.

HOW WAS WART THE WIZARD CREATED?

Years ago when my daughter was younger, I would read to her every night at bedtime. Hundreds and hundreds of stories later, when it seemed like there was almost nothing left to read, she demanded a custom tale and Wart The Wizard was born! Night after night, when most children were already asleep, we’d stay up late laughing and joking about Wart’s misfortune, and agreed that EVERYONE has a little bit of Wart The Wizard inside of them. He’s the humor we find when things are sometimes at their worst, and the proof that anyone can overcome life’s challenges if you look within yourself and dare to dream.

IS WART THE WIZARD A CHILDREN’S BOOK?

Yes and No! Wart The Wizard is a fun, adventure-filled tale that is age-appropriate for EVERYONE! The humor is similar to that of “Shrek” or other Disney / Pixar films!
