Issue 2 of Nathan Rosario’s Sci-Fi Comic “Stump” Now on Indiegogo
On Wednesday, independent comic book creator Nathan M. Rosario launched a crowdfunding campaign for the second issue of Stump, which is expected to be a 48-page follow-up to the first issue that shipped in late 2020. (You can read our review of book 1 here)
Written and illustrated by Rosario, Stump is a science fiction tale slightly akin to the Superman origin story.
Here’s the full pitch taken from the Stump Indiegogo campaign page:
The first page of Stump #2 picks up only a few hours after the final page of Stump #1. Loose plot threads from the first issue will be developed further and Stump will be forced to confront a new threat created by magical forces that he has never encountered before.
My goal is to create a book that can be picked up and read immediately after you finish Stump #1: Remastered, but also a comic book that presents a satisfying story for new readers as well. Even if you’ve never read issue #1, I hope to create a story that you can still enjoy in Stump #2.
Unlike Stump #1: Remastered, this book will be more than an enhanced, colorized reprint of a comic that I finished years ago. The majority of Stump #2 is being drawn out now and certain aspects of the story are being finalized. The plan is currently for another 48-page book.
This time around, backers can get a copy Stump issue 2 for $10 (with free shipping in the United States?!). If you’re looking to spend some extra cash, you can also receive multiple copies of the book, original artwork, or bundles including issue 1 if you need to catch up.
At the time of this writing, the project has raised approximately a third of its total funding goal, so it’s well on its way to being fully funded (though it may be a slower climb given comparatively lower buy-in price).
