Sonic Team’s next “Sonic the Hedgehog” game not coming until 2021

In a recent interview with Game Informer during E3 2019, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka indicated that SEGA has big plans for Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary 2021.
