Coffin Comics finds latest crowdfunding success in La Muerta: Retribution

On Friday, La Muerta #1: Retribution, the latest crowdfunding project from Coffin Comics, completed its funding period, raising 800% of its goal for a total of over $86 thousand from more than thousand backers.
This marks yet another strong Kickstarter project for Coffin Comics, having conducted several other wildly successful campaigns including Brian Pulido’s Lady Death comics and La Muerta series.
If you’ve never participated in one of Coffin Comics’ crowdfunding campaigns, the extras and stretch goals are pretty awesome. This time around, backers will receive not just the new La Muerta book, but a bookmark, stickers, cards, poster prints and a guitar pick.
But of course, the main attraction is the book itself. Take a look at a few of the pages below and decide how sad you are if you missed out this time around.
Kicking yourself? You can join the Coffin Comics mailing list here if you’d like to receive updates on future Coffin Comics projects.
There seems to be a comic renaissance these days with some very prominent creators turning to crowdfunding to sell directly to their fanbase. The success of these books from Coffin Comics has blazed quite an impressive trail for others including Cyberfrog: Blood Honey by Ethan Van Sciver and Jawbreakers: Lost Souls by Splatto Comics.
Congratulations to Coffin Comics and the La Muerta #1: Retribution team on yet another strong campaign.

800% of goal? Hot damn.
